Pannaiyarum Padminiyum Movie Review

Pannaiyarum Padminiyum as the title resembles, the story is all about a Pannaiyar and his love towards his Premier Padmini car. The film has Vijay Sethupathi and Jayaprakash in the lead role and Aishwarya Rajesh as the heroine.

The film was directed by debutant S U Arun Kumar who was one of the contestants in Nalaya Iyakunar. This film was a short film which was telecasted then and now it has been elaborated with all film mixture and released with the name Panaiyarum Padminiyum. The music was played by debutant Justin Prabhakar and produced by M R Ganesh.

Vijay Sethupathi plays the role of Murugesan, Jayaprakash as Panaiyar, Aishwarya Rajesh as Malarvizhi, the film also have Neelima Rani, Balasaravanan. The surprised package on the film is the gust appearance by Sneha and Atakathi Dinesh.

Of the entire thing in the film the most attracted point was the title of the movie. Among some film which has the right title actually goes with the film, this film was one among them. The entire film is about the panaiyar who has an intimate love and affected to his old premier car which was named as padmini. The reason for the name was portrayed in a simple scene which we can find in many of their life. Sethupathi was the one who worked as the driver for the padmini car. The life was good then, they had a usual conversation here and there and what makes the film to serious is the remaining story.

The love between Sethupathi and Aishwarya is usual village romances as we could see in many 80’s movie. The film was portrayed with 80’s background and the director had put much effort to bring the feel of those days. And the attempt was real success. The chemistry between Sethupathi and Jayapraksh was much better than Sethupathi and Aishwariya.

As usual Sethupathi score the bored and it was appreciable that he had chosen this story to come out with new acting idea. Jayaprakash with casual acting and dialogue delivery lead the film in many place. Aishwarya, as it was her second released movie nothing much was improved and in some scene was quite nature. The music was real added flavor but does not reach audience on first time. The film also have one added flavor that is the lyric of great legend late Vaali.
