Once again the epic Thala versus Thalapathy assault will begin in a few hours. For the latecomers it is the sixth time that Thala Ajith and Ilayathalapathy Vijay are clashing, with both their movies issuing on the same day.
It all started more than a decade back in 2001 Pongal when Vijay’s Friends issue clashed with Ajith’s Dheena. subsequent there were four more clashes between Ajith and Vijay movies on festival days – Bhagawathi v/s Villain (2002 Deepavali), Thirumalai v/s Anjaneya (2003 Diwali), Aadhi v/s Paramasivam (2006 Pongal) and Pokkiri v/s Aalwar (2007, Pongal).
For the last six years the famous foes not ever clashed, due to force from trade who always are looking for a solo issue. Now seven years down the line when Vijay and Ajith are genuine big superstars they are once afresh crossing swords at the box-office.
Pongal 2014 will glimpse the large-scale ever battle in Tamil movies as Vijay Jilla takes on Ajith’s Veeram worldwide. The battle lines are clearly drawn as both movies are releasing in almost 1000 partitions all over the world.
The battleground is actually Tamil Nadu where they will be issuing in almost 350 to 400 screens each. The accurate number of screens will be known only by Friday (Jan 10) evening, as discussions go on till the last moment.
The accelerate registration for Jilla and Veeram has been phenomenal throughout Tamil Nadu. On the unfastening day early morning displays are being planned. Both the films are anticipated to take a gargantuan unfastening, as large-scale Pongal weekend starts.
